Rules and Common Information

Below is a list of basic rules and common information that applies to every Township Cemetery. Please see the complete cemetery ordinance(PDF, opens in new window) for additional information.

• Cemetery lots may be purchased from the Township at the cost of $300.00 and a $150.00 administration fee for residents and $500.00 and a $150.00 administration fee for non-residents.
• The Cemetery is open daily from dawn until dusk.
• Only one person may be buried in a burial space, unless it is a mother and infant, 2 children, or up to 4 cremations.
• No flowers, trees, bushes, shrubs, etc. shall be planted in any burial space. Anything planted or placed at a grave site may be removed and disposed of at any time. Flowers, wreaths, or other types of refuse or growth that becomes unsightly or hinders maintenance may be disposed of at any time.
• There shall be no emblems, displays, containers, vases, ornaments, fences, benches, plastics, trellises, statues, signs, or any other item placed, kept, installed, or maintained in the cemetery. Any of these items, or other source of litter that hinders basic maintenance (including mowing), may be removed and disposed of at any time.
• No alcohol is allowed in the cemetery.
• There shall be no littering or dumping.
• Be respectful of anyone in the cemetery, and do not cause any sort of disturbance.
• Any violation of our ordinance will result in a civil infraction and a fine between $100-$200.
• Please keep all records of burial space and proper identification. Headstone maintenance is to be the responsibility of the family.
• Entrance and travels in the cemetery is done at your own risk. The township is not responsible for any injury, accident, or other calamity that might occur to anyone or anything in a Township Cemetery. The Township is not responsible for any damage, removal, vandalism, theft of, or deterioration of any burial monument, headstone, or any item placed in the cemetery.

Foundations are usually poured twice a year. Early summer (May – June) and Fall (Sept – Oct).
Foundations are .60 per square inch and are poured 24" deep. Foundations require a 4" border on each side. Only one foundation is allowed per space.

Basic Formula for Foundation: [Length of Stone + 8” (right and left border)] x [Width of Stone + 8” (top and bottom border)] x .60.
Example: If your stone is 38" wide and 18" tall, it would be 38x18x.60 = $410.40.
